As a native Israeli, I follow a concept like an immigrant in motion.
My latest body of work, "My life in Switzerland, Ongoingly," is an ongoing project that incorporates a projected slide show of images taken from the back covers of Artforum Magazine as well as a single large-scale collage, which I created from the visual details of these ads.
-- My own image was inserted into each one of the back covers's ads.
For the past 25 years to the present, consistently on a monthly basis, the Swiss Gallery of Bruno Bischofberger has been using landscape and obscure scenes of Switzerland as their only advertising on the back cover of Artforum. The agenda and the mastermind behind this is unknown.
I scanned all of Bischofberger's ads, removing the advertising text.
Then, choosing from my own 'historical' personal album collection, I transported my own image into the scene of each issue/month.
While attempting to hijack the back cover of Artforum Magazine on a monthly basis, the piece speaks to border crossing, patriotism, transparency and the art world.
